Spring is right around the corner, which means all of the people who are like me will slowly be coming out of hibernation. It's also the season when cities come to life and is officially the beginning of dating season. How do I know? With warm weather comes more options.
If you ask people what their idea of a first date is, most people have boring generic answers that consist of dinner and a movie. Isn't the whole point of a first date to see if you "click" with a person? Well, you can't test the chemistry by sitting next to one another in a dark place where talking is forbidden. For starters, I think that a period of talking on the phone is necessary before any type of date goes down. This way you spare yourself the pain and agony of going out with someone who you have absolutely nothing in common with. Through conversing with one another it'll also be easier to know what the other person enjoys, in turn handing you a date idea on a silver platter. So after the whole awkward "getting to know you" phase, if both people are still interested then it's time for a date. Personally, I don't think a first date should be any pressure and it should be a chance where two people feel comfortable being themselves. A trip to a uptight restaurant isn't necessarily my idea of fun when I'm trying to get to know a person. So get creative! Fellas, if you find out that the chick is really into art, take the time to look and see if there are any exhibits nearby. Those are usually free and have a real chill environment that is conducive to two people trying to get to know each other. Ladies, if you know that he's into music, then maybe you can find a lounge or chill spot where they have live bands come through.
Personally, I feel that a first date, really any date for that matter, should be like hanging out. A chance where both people can have a great time and be laid back. For me something as simple as a trip to the book store ,preferably one with a cafe so we can sit and talk, or as cliche as it sounds
What is your idea of the perfect first date?

The perfect first date to me is something where both people are active and you really get to 'see' what the person is like. The little simple things are the best: have a Wii tournament, do dinner and maybe a festival or concert, etc.
I feel what you're sayin'...but a first date is just that. A FIRST date. It's a test drive. All I need to know about a woman for the first date is that she's willing to go on a date with me. During the date I'll decide if there will be a second. Actually, one of the things I really dislike is when a man or woman cringes at the thought of a date with said member of the opposite sex with: "But I don't even know him/her." DUH! That's what the first date is for!
Personally, I like a meal to be the first date, any time of day really. I make sure the eatery is comfortably within my price range and offers a dish I like. That way, if it turns out she 7 I don't get along, I still got to eat some good food, and I won't regret it when the bill comes.
i could never put a limit to what a first or any date will or should be - never start any relationship with restrictions, then u may find out latter it was all a game. have a great weekend
I like simple dates too. Last first date I had was getting cheesesteaks then chilling at my place and watching tv. I hate high-pressure dates, and for the exact reason you stated I don't do movies for early dates until me and the lady are pretty comfortable with each other. Sitting silent through a movie feels like a wasted date, you don't learn anything about the other person!
